The project revolves around a simple rectangular form, purposefully designed to remain compact and efficient. This form is strategically divided by a plus-shaped layout that organizes the building’s functions while enhancing connectivity and community.

All auxiliary functions that do not require daylight are positioned along the longitudinal axis of the plus shape. These include staircases, elevators, communal kitchens, bathrooms, and printer rooms.

The lateral axis introduces a dynamic communal atrium, which serves as the heart of the building. This expansive, open space is further enlivened by communal platforms that shift direction on each floor, creating a sense of movement and interaction. These platforms connect the two sides of the building, fostering social engagement and offering versatile spaces for workers to gather, collaborate, or relax.

The atrium also plays a crucial role in the building’s sustainability concept. By acting as a natural ventilation shaft, it facilitates the flow of fresh air throughout the structure, reducing the need for mechanical cooling. The design takes advantage of the stack effect, where warm air rises and is expelled through vents at the top, drawing cooler air from the lower levels. This natural ventilation system not only enhances indoor air quality but also contributes to energy efficiency by minimizing reliance on air conditioning. The open design of the atrium allows for natural light to penetrate deep into the building, further reducing energy consumption and creating a comfortable, well-lit environment.

The overall design strikes a balance between private and communal areas, making it an ideal environment for various living and working arrangements. The simple rectangular form, intersected by the plus shape, ensures a compact footprint while nurturing a strong sense of community and interaction throughout the building.
